We at Fortitude Financial are fiduciaries as your financial advisors. What does it mean to be a fiduciary? It really comes down to the fact that we conduct our business in a way that puts you, our clients’ interests before our own, and that we act prudently and conscientiously in the management of your money and financial lives. We have always taken this duty very seriously, and now that we run our own RIA, we are held directly to these high standards.
As per investopedia.com: “Generally, a financial advisor is an independent practitioner who operates in a fiduciary capacity in which a client's interests come before their own. However, only Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), who are governed by the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, are held to a true fiduciary standard.”
The move we have made to forming our own RIA will not change the way we approach our client care and investment management. However, part of this transition indicates that we are now held more formally to this standard of care.
